- Fat injection
This method involves liposuction of fat tissues from the thigh or abdomen. The advantage of this procedure is that the fat tissues are readily available and easy to harvest.
It is also easy to insert the extracted liposuction and local anesthesia without incurring any health risks or adverse reactions. Although about 60% of the fat will be reabsorbed, usually what remains after six weeks will be permanent.
Patients undergoing this technique can often benefit from repeated procedures. Other options for lip augmentation include using non-animal derived hyaluronic acid, such as Perlane or Restylane, which is injected.
For the fat injection operation, patients will have to prepare for a 7 day stay in Thailand.
- Skin graft
The skin graft technique involves grafting of skin from the abdomen, inner thigh or the trimmed skin after a facelift operation. The technique provides longevity since the patient gets to use their own skin tissue to get a lasting and attractive look. The dermal skin graft provides the most permanent lip filler. In some cases, idiosyncratic absorption may occur quickly while in other situations the lips will maintain their fullness for several years with up to 80% to 100% retention.
- V-Y Plasty
The V-Y plasty is a different operation where the doctor tightens the muscles of the lips. It involves an internal tissue re-arrangement from the inside of the lips. This technique, therefore, provides a permanent, lasting enhancement that gives fuller lips.
- It takes a short time.
- The procedure uses local materials; therefore, no foreign materials are used. This reduces the risks of complications.
- This operation can achieve positive results that benefit some patients but caution has to be taken as it doesn’t work the same way on all individuals.
- The technique of this operation is a delicate one and requires a highly experienced surgeon.
This procedure provides treatment for aged people whose lips need fat or hyaluronic fillers to appear desirable and attractive. Here, Botox injections and other techniques may be used in separation or as a combination.
