CALF IMPLANT IN BANGKOK, THAILAND

Calf augmentation is a cosmetic procedure performed with the aim of increasing the size and shape of the calf muscles. The operation involves surgically inserting implants into your calves in order to improve their contour.

Calf implantation is a relatively straightforward procedure that yields very satisfying results. Good candidates for calf implants are healthy men and women who have the desire to improve the size or shape of their lower leg muscles. It is also important to have realistic expectations of what surgery can do.

Types of Calf Implants

Calf implants are available in solid silicone and silicone gel.

Solid Calf Implants

The biggest advantage of the solid silicone calf implants is that they can be sculpted to fit each patient individually. The one disadvantage with solid implants is that they can leave an edge that can be felt externally if they’ve been placed too close to the surface. They are also expensive.

Silicone Gel Calf Implants

The most popular type of calf implant used today, silicone gel-filled implants are economical and have a more natural feeling than solid implants. They are often smooth and cannot be felt externally after the placement. One disadvantage with the silicone gel calf implants is that they carry the risk of capsular contracture, although this is far less common than with breast implants.

Implant placement

The two commonly used techniques in calf augmentation are subfascial implantation, which involves placing the implant just under the skin dermis, and sub muscular placement, where the implant is placed under the deep fascia.

In both cases, the incisions are placed in the knee crease and the scar is easily hidden once healed.

Sub fascial placement

The sub fascial placement is a straightforward technique with predictable results and high patient satisfaction. It also results in faster recovery and less pain after the operation.

Sub muscular

The biggest advantage of the sub muscular implant placement is that the implant is placed more securely and accurately within the gastronomies and oleos muscles. This calf muscle that has deeper fascia tissue allows for more aesthetic placement of the implant.

SURGERY

SURGERY

The surgeon will find the ideal type of implant based on your individual requirements during your consultation. Some considerations:

  • Determine the type of silicone you need
  • Determine the shape of the silicone you want
  • Make sure the size of the silicone implant is right
  • Choose a silicone implant placement that is right for you

Calf augmentation surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The operation begins with an incision of 4-5 cm along the soleal line. Through this incision, the surgeon will create a pocket for inserting the implant. After inserting the implant, the wound is closed with sutures. The whole operation takes about 2-3 hours.
