SURGERY
Facial fat liposuction can be performed by using intravenous sedation, local, or general anesthesia. Our surgeons will be happy to discuss the most suitable options for you during your consultation.
The surgeon will begin by making a small incision of less than half an inch close to the area being treated, such as under the chin or behind the ear lobe. Whenever possible, the incisions are placed within the skin’s natural folds in order to minimize visible scarring on the face. The surgeon will then insert a thin cannula (a hollow tube) to remove the unwanted fat from the treatment area.
This tube suctions the fat deposits beneath the skin layer. As the tube pushes through this layer, the excess fat deposits are loosened up using a controlled back and forth motion. A surgical vacuum is then used to remove the unwanted fat from under the skin. Finally, the surgeon will close the incisions with the help of sutures.
The entire procedure typically takes less than an hour, and no hospitalization is required.

- Plan to stay in Thailand 2-3 days after your surgery.
- Prepare an ice pack or ice-cubes in the freezer.
- Wash your face in the morning; don’t wear any make-up.
- You may want to bring a friend along to take you home afterward.
Recovery
- Gently clean the sutures with a cotton swab dipped in sterile water for the first week.
- A follow-up appointment to remove the stitches will be made after 5 days.
- You should rest with your head elevated as this will help minimize swelling and bruising.
- Avoid heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for 2 weeks.
- You should be able to return to work and resume most normal activities within a few days
